Christine joined the Pathway to Living® team in July of 2017 as the Executive Director of Grandbrier®.
With 25 years of senior living experience, it’s clear that Christine’s passion is caring for, assisting and supporting seniors – especially those with cognitive impairments. She is a Certified
Dementia Practitioner® and also a Certified Trainer ®. Christine has received her dementia accreditation from the Alzheimer’s Association® and has also facilitated dementia support groups.
In her role as Executive Director, Christine has solidified a wonderful team of managers and front-line staff that provide the very best care and customer service to residents and families. She has also been instrumental in supporting families during the difficult transition of moving a loved one into an Assisted Living community. Christine leads by example and demonstrates the VIVA!SM culture of “live your best life” every day at the Grandbrier. Christine enjoys creating relationships with residents and families and is often found throughout the community engaging with them.
Christine enjoys reading and traveling as well as skiing and all outdoor activities. Christine lives in Palatine with her husband, who she’s been happily married to for 25 years, her sons and her dog, Marley.
Diane serves as one of our Lifestyle Specialists, which is a natural fit as the senior care industry is near and dear to her heart. She has over 10 years of experience in senior-related industries, from the medical supply industry to Memory Care senior living.
Diane’s passion is deeply rooted in helping her clients find the perfect senior community that enriches their lives by affording them a purposeful lifestyle. She has a keen sense of understanding what families are seeking for their loved ones and believes that getting to know each family is crucial in understanding exactly what they are looking for. She also enjoys bringing joy and comfort to their extended family just as she did for her own parents three years ago when she assisted them in finding their perfect senior living community to call home.
As a recent empty nester, Diane and her husband are able to enjoy traveling, white-water rafting, remodeling their kitchen and bathroom, bowling and playing with their two dogs, Princess Leia and Abby.
Janette has been with Pathway to Living® since 2008. As a former Community Life Manager, Janette developed and facilitated VIVA!SM wellness programs, which give individuals the opportunity to live life to the fullest. With her experience in creating recreational activities, enhancing programming and maintaining relationships with residents and their families, it’s only natural that she should serve as Lifestyle Specialist.
In this position, Janette enjoys the opportunity to meet each future resident and their family members. Learning about each individual person and discovering their life story is one of her passions. She also enjoys being able to counsel and assist them in their move to Grandbrier® of Prospect Heights. Janette is passionate about Pathway to Living’s See Spot Retire signature program, where each community adopts an older dog in need of a loving home. As an owner of a rescue dog herself, she eagerly anticipates the adoption of Grandbrier’s very own furry friend.
Outside of work, Janette is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Licensed Zumba® Instructor. She loves utilizing her group fitness expertise to teach classes with residents at Grandbrier, as outreach to the community-at-large, and in her weekly classes taught at a local fitness center.
Business Office Manager
Marjorie serves as the Business Office Manager at Grandbrier® of Prospect Heights and states that Grandbrier is a special place where she is able to apply her business experience with the love that she has for seniors within the community.
After moving to Illinois two years ago, Marjorie’s desire grew to become part of Grandbrier once she saw it was being built down the street from her home. She has a deep aspiration to make a difference in the lives of seniors and feels heartfelt joy, privilege and honor that she is part of the Grandbrier team.
Over the years, Marjorie has volunteered for many non-profit organizations and cared for seniors within her community, taking them to Communion and spending time. She also served as a caregiver to her own mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Memory Care Manager
Janette began serving as Grandbrier’s Memory Care Manager in May of 2017; however, she is not new to Pathway, who she has worked for since 2015.
As the manager of the A Knew Day® Memory Care program, Janette is passionate about achieving excellence in senior living and facilitating seniors to achieve their highest possible levels of independence and fulfillment. She strives to create living environments that support and enrich the lives of residents living with dementia.
Her passion for seniors runs deep. In her free time, she even led a monthly support group for those outside of the community to educate and further support families.
Community Life Manager
A graduate from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Megan has found her passion as a leader in programming within senior living.
Megan discovered this calling for senior living through having the opportunity to make someone else’s days not only easier but happier. She finds it very important to connect with each resident who walks into Grandbrier® and loves fostering connections and making sure residents feel comfortable in their new home. Megan strives to create an engaging calendar filled with life-enriching programs and makes it her personal mission to find each residents’ “voice” to make their days brighter.
Megan loves to spend her free time traveling, and with her family. She loves to jump into the culture of new places and explore life, and has studied abroad in Costa Rica, as well as worked on a cruise ship as an Event Programmer.
Community Life Manager for Memory Care
A graduate from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education, Katie has joined our management team as the Community Life Manager for Memory Care.
In this role, Katie plans, administers and engages residents in programs, which is imperative to their cognitive well-being. Katie firmly believes in making every single day her residents’ best day yet, using both her personality and the VIVA!SM philosophy to get residents motivated, active and living a purpose-filled life. It is her goal to learn as much as she can about each resident in order to make each day fun-filled and special.
Before serving in her role are Community Life Manager, Katie studied abroad for a semester in Nicosia, Cyprus, where she fell in love with traveling and the field of healthcare. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Erica became a member of the Grandbrier® team in August of 2017, serving as the Move-In Coordinator. In this role, Erica’s main goal is to make future residents and their families feel comfortable before and after their move and to create an easy, worry-free transition.
Erica received her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, and has over 12 years of experience working in a variety of settings with diverse populations. More specifically, she has worked with seniors and their families for five years, which is where she feels she belongs.
Erica moved to Illinois from Pennsylvania two years ago with her husband, two children and her four-legged babies: two dogs and two cats. In her free time, Erica enjoys exercising, going to the movies and spending time with her family.
